1988 44 ft Tollycraft CPMY for sale by owner

This hard to find, highly sought after Tollycraft model was designed by Ed Monk Jr. and built by the renowned Tollycraft Boat Yard in the Pacific Northwest.

We are transvesselites. After years of sailing we decided to make life a little easier while cruising the islands. We looked high and low for a powerboat that fit our needs. After all, years of experience taught us there are certain MUST HAVES in a boat to live comfortably.

Most importantly we wanted  durability and safety.

Tollycraft Yachts built in the Pacific Northwest have a reputation for just that. Tollefson often said that every boat his company built was a vessel he had created for himself. For that reason, Tollycraft yachts are built to handle even the sloppiest offshore conditions.

Tollefson did not take kindly to the concept of using a boat as a condo or a dockside party barge. He lived to go boating. Monk and his father before him took Tolly's original concept designs and engineered them into some of the most popular and beloved cruising yachts available.

The 44 Cockpit Motor Yacht is built with the Quadra Lift hull. Revered for its handling, performance and fuel efficiency, this hull makes for a dry ride and dampens roll (unlike a typical hard-chinned hull). The Quadra Lift hull has a pair of chines with a compound curve in between. The top chine, above the waterline, deflects spray and bow wave for a dry ride. The two chines together to keep the hull from plunging too deep in heavy seas, dampen roll action and strengthen the hull sides.

We wanted a boat that was self contained.

Most powerboats are designed to be at a dock. Sure you can go out and anchor for a night or two, but they are usually not equipped to do more than that. We love living off the grid. Seaya is equipped with a propane stove and oven that can actually bake a small turkey. We redesigned a 12 Volt refrigerator and freezer so they both had better insulation and a larger capacity for those jaunts to the islands. We designed a battery bank to support living off the grid and added solar power. Included on Seaya is a 40 gal an hour watermaker to replenish the tank.

Don’t get me wrong living off the grid doesn’t mean giving up creature comforts. The aft cabin has a walk around Queen bed with an onsuite bathroom and roomy separate shower stall. The main salon is comfortable to just hang out in on a cold rainy day and watch tv. It includes an L shaped custom couch with extra storage under the cushions. Our galley is spacious for any chef looking to make a gourmet meal. The full size dinette is located right across from the galley for easy serving. The v-berth has sleeps two with an onsuite bathroom that includes a wet shower.

The design of the Tollycraft 44 CMPY is ideal for entertaining. We have had up to 10 guests for a sit down dinner on the sun deck! The cockpit and large swim platform makes loading and unloading easy. There is also an outdoor hot and cold pressurized shower to wash off the salt and sand from a day at the beach.
